Name: Shiina Sakakibara
Age: Between seventeen and nineteen depending on roleplay.
Height: 5'5"
Sexuality: Unknown
Appearance: Shiina can usually be seen wearing some sort of gothic themed clothing, with purple accents to it. Her hair is a long silvery colour that reaches down to her lower back, but is usually pulled up unevenly with a black streak in it. Her eyes are an amethyst colour, almost always matching the purple accents of her clothing.
Likes: Shiina's passion is music, the most important thing in her life. It is her way of escaping reality, and also a way to keep her stress down. Other things that she enjoys though, would be the rain and cool weather. Shiina also appears to enjoy solitude, though doesn't hate companionship.
Dislikes: She doesn't really seem to show any sort of real dislike towards anything, her face practically unreadable almost all the time. However, the one thing that bothers her more than anything else, is people who are succesful despite not writing their own music and/or lyrics, believing that success should come from a person's own talent, not another's.
Personality: She is a somewhat quiet girl, usually unable to find the words she wants to express herself. This makes her appear rather blank to certain things, and appearing as if she's almost brushing things or people off. When asked about something she likes though, she becomes very enthusiastic though, almost like a small child at Christmas. Shiina can also appear rather blunt at times, even if she doesn't necessarily mean to be.
Expressing herself was something that Shiina had never been good at, despite coming from a talented and charismatic family. Her family had been known for being talented at music, classical to be exact, for a couple of generations. Shiina's favourite thing to hear as a child was her father playing the violin for her, something he would do for her and her twin brother when there was free time in his busy schedule. Shiina and Ren were beyond inseparable as children, always in the same classes with each other, and always there for each other. Their family was practically perfect, until it came down to the most important thing in the household. Talent.
Ren had amazing talent almost right away when he was given the violin, a real prodigy. Their parents had been incredibly happy. Unfortunately for Shiina however, she wasn't as lucky. When she tried to play, it was screechy and just a horrifying sound to the ears. Despite her parents having tried to reassure her, Shiina felt as though she had disappointed them greatly, whilst her brother brought them great joy. This only began to create the distance between the two twins, and slight tension throughout the entire family. Her brother had begun to take the violin very seriously, resulting in Shiina often being alone to do things, something she wasn't used to at the time. It had angered her that he seemed to be the only talented one, and that she wasn't able to please her parents in the same way he could.
When she had turned thirteen, her slight rebellion had begun. Shiina had gotten herself a guitar, and began trying her hardest to practice it. It thrilled her even, to know that the music she was trying to learn was different from the usual classical music that could be heard in her home. She would spend hours at a time on it, not stopping even when her fingers had blistered and bled. Over time, the harder she had worked, the more successful she had become, eventually becoming as talented with the guitar and her vocal chords as her brother was with the violin. Shiina had never been more proud of herself, proud that she had worked so hard and that it had paid off in the end. However, this sparked a rivalry between the twins, the difference between the music Shiina composed and the music her brother played were like polar opposites. On one end of the house, there was Shiina's guitar and on the other end her brother's. Her brother accused her for breaking the family line and even spoke of how she was technically throwing away their name. The years passed and the two shared at least two words to each other of greetings and farewells but the bond they shared was forever damaged. Not only because of the different music, but also because the two really gained their sense of individuality once they were separated.
Shiina continued to work hard on her music, finding it to be the one thing she cared about most, even if her family couldn't appreciate it with her. She stood out from the rest of her family, but it didn't bother her in the slightest. She had finally found a way to express herself, and it was through her own music.
